John Frederick Walker is an author, artist, and conservationist.
His writing has appeared in a number of publications, including The Washington Post, Africa Geographic, and Swara. He is the author of two books on natural history, A Certain Curve of Horn and Ivory’s Ghosts.
Walker has been traveling in, and reporting on, Africa since 1986, when he first became involved with endangered species conservation.
Walker’s art has been exhibited in solo and group shows nationally, and is represented in public and private collections, including the Yale University Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C.
He lives in Connecticut with his wife, journalist and author Elin McCoy.
